FUN FACT: during the movie Lilith reloads the infinity pistol multiple times... ONE OF THE ONLY GUNS YOU CANNOT RELOAD IN THE GAME!
So the ONLY Borderlands gun in the movie, they treated like a normal gun. Well, at least they're consistent in their crapping on everything.😊

The sadest part is that they had the framework for a good story in the game and chose to ignore it. It's a Indiana Jones style treasure hunt with a 4 person ensamble brought together by sheer coincidence with a tone going more for a hard 18+ commedy with lots of gore and you could have the characters constantly picking up new and weirder weapons.
And the cast in the movie had no good banter or even chemistry. I know Jamie Lee Curtis can be hilarious, and the kid had potential. Hart is a comedian.

Safe to say that Kevin Hart and Jack Black's classic comedic sidekick antics were far better utilized together in the Jumanji movies.

Borderlands the Game out well before Guardians of the Galaxy movie. This wasn't Borderlands it was a lazy attempt to capitalize off an IP by a studio
I saw the trailer of this movie at the cinema and that's exactly what I thought, a might-be-fun knock-off GOTG. only it couldn't even be a fun but kind of dumb summer movie.

I don't understand why studios keep greenlighting scripts written by people who clearly don't enjoy the video games they are adapting. The Last of Us showed you can make a good video game adaptation, so it's no wonder Craig Mazin wanted his name off of this film.
Even Fallout successfully executed the tone that this movie was going for.

Not the fairest comparison since The Last of Us was already a story telling masterpiece of a game, so they just had to not screw up what worked already. For Borderlands, no one was playing for the story, so idk why they thought they could make a plot around it.

For me a 10 out of 10 adaptation they made smart choices and you can even infer special stats in the game for actions that happen to figure out what each characters stats are likely to be too, it works great for both fans of the games ( mostly 3 onward cus I think fall out 1 and 2 fans it’s a bit more mixed) and newcomers, and there’s still mystery even if you know alot about the fallout universe, I won’t spoil just check it out and see it through to the end

I honestly think that one of the mistakes of making the movie, it was that they decided to make it live-action, it would be better if was animation, they would be able to go over the top with at least the actions scenes.

This movie was uploaded to RUclips last week and watched by more people on RUclips than saw it in the theaters.
And it still wasn't more than twenty people 🤣 I made it about 2:45 into the RUclips copy and said, "Nope!"
It was at almost 500k views when I clicked on the link. I bailed out at glass prison break, which is less than 5 minutes I believe.
No way, I literally wouldn't watch this movie for free, even if they have away free snacks and tickets to a theater showing.
Watched it online because I didn't want to waste money on a theater ticket...

It's never a good sign when a big blockbuster movie gets pulled from theaters less than a month after release.
Why is it even called a blockbuster when it didn't even last a month in theatres?
Hell I had a hard time finding a showing 1 week after it was released, no wonder the movie did poorly in the box office if they even made it impossible for people that wanted to watch the movie to see it.
